A 360° school safety plan requires:
• robust threat detection
• rapid notification of responsible individuals and agencies, and
• reliable mass notification of students, staff, and faculty.
In this session, we describe a wireless Active DAS system providing LMR as well as FirstNet coverage within a school – with the added ability to detect gunshot threats using AI technology. Such an integrated system can provide the most up-to-date situational awareness information to first responders, as well as school administration, to rapidly and effectively asses and deal with threats. The presentation will describe the system architecture, testing protocols, and system installation. Also included are the perspectives of school administration and first responders regarding the need for such systems.
Takeaway
• Basic overview of an Active DAS with AI capabilities
• Integrating threat detection with threat reporting and mass notification to ensure quick and effective responses
• Leveraging FirstNet to provide unprecedented situational awareness to first responders
