On 12/14/2012, Twenty first grade students and six school staff were murdered at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. Colonel Dan Stebbins was the on scene commander of that horrific scene. The Colonel will review the tragic events of that day and the response of the First Responders. The focus of the presentation will include the lessons learned about the shooter and the failures of the emergency communication systems that were available at that time. The Emergency 911 System, the Landline and Hardline answering point confusion, the cell system congestion, and the fact that the calls of numerous people with valuable information did not go through. Hear how FirstNet would have made a difference.
