Ransomware incidents increasingly impact small and medium sized municipalities, disrupting business processes and affecting important citizen services, such as PSAP/911 operations. In this session, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency will host a panel of emergency communication stakeholders to share their experiences and practices for preventing and mitigating ransomware impacts. The session includes a demo of CISA's new user-friendly Ransomware Resiliency Assessment module in the Cybersecurity Evaluation Tool and the facilitated version. Both assessment can help smaller, medium sized public safety organizations with limited resources take important steps in identifying their vulnerabilities and planning for improving their resiliency against cyberattacks.
Takeaway
During this presentation, attendees will gain from this presentation and how it will benefit the IWCE ecosystem:
1. Share information about no-cost tools to help small, mid-sized PSAP/911 functions assess cyber vulnerabilities
2. Discuss how to lower the attack vulnerabilities of PSAP/911 functions
3. Understanding your dependence on municipal networks or managed service providers' IP-based networks
