Wireless communications continue to evolve at a mind-numbing pace, but one thing will never change: spectrum always will be the foundation for wireless operations. In the public-safety space, 800 MHz rebanding finally is complete and the T-Band spectrum is no longer being auctioned, but plenty of other issues remain. Panelists will discuss the developing policies surrounding the 4.9 GHz and 6 GHz bands, highlighting their impacts on public safety. New opportunities in CBRS and other bands offer first-response agencies new options to leverage in a variety of different scenarios. Meanwhile, should there be dedicated spectrum for a public-safety direct-mode operations and/or for public-safety Wi-Fi access?
