In this session, learn from experienced project professionals about the essentials you will need to successfully manage a complex communications project through the entire system lifecycle. Capital communications projects can be overwhelming to plan and deliver, as they are often once-in-a-career projects and require staffing, skills, and expertise that many system owners do not maintain in-house. The session will address system planning, prioritization, and procurement strategy for those at the beginning of the project journey; will touch on project management best practices and avoidable pitfalls for those in the delivery phase of the project; and will examine system life-cycle considerations and strategies that need to be built into the program from beginning to end. Participants will leave with an understanding of the complexity involved in planning, executing, and maintaining a communications system project, and will be armed with resources and strategies to employ on their own projects.
