This session will focus on best practices of partnerships used during the COVID-19 pandemic response focused on emergency communications support. Partnering at the local, state, and federal level is key to the success of managing critical communications. During COVID-19, the successful use of task force organizations, shared business planning, and partnering significantly helped jurisdictions with unusual requests, including establishing communications for alternative hospital sites and a remote tribal village. At the same time, partnerships supported first responders in balancing network management while maintaining their ops tempo regardless of jurisdiction, discipline, affiliation, or location. In addition to technical interoperability challenges, challenges related to people and processes also must be considered. This session focuses on the ability to maintain these critical functions through a pandemic, and the use of partnerships to achieve it.
