The P25 Inter-RF Subsystem Interface (ISSI) is a standards based technology that is widely talked about among public safety communications interoperability. However, it is not frequently implemented or utilized in P25 radio systems across the Country. There is much confusion around what the P25 ISSI can provide in terms of interoperability and connecting multiple radio systems. In this presentation, discuss how to get started implementing an ISSI: negotiating the MOUs; understanding the P25 standards; understanding how to plan features, functionality, and programming; understanding the features that will negatively impact your system when connecting multiple P25 radio systems together.

Takeaway

• MOU must haves to protect all parties
• Overview of the P25 Standards and Interoperability Requirements for the ISSI
• How to Implement P25 ISSI's and features and functionalities
• Know which features to avoid.
