The majority of First Responders rely on Mission Critical Push to Talk (MC PTT) capability on their land mobile radios. However, the use of broadband networks for voice services continues to grow as does the number of push to talk services available. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science & Technology recently led a MC PTT demonstration with its DHS Operational Component partners (e.g., US Coast Guard, Customs and Border Protection) and state and local first responder agencies. The demonstration included FirstNet AT&T's selected MCPTT provider and tested for performance across end user handsets. MCPTT standards-based solutions will be the key to maintaining interoperability in the field across local, state, tribal, and Federal government. The panel will highlight the tests, observations, and lessons learned from this multiagency demonstration.
