As critical industries adopt broadband and critical broadband networks evolve conformance, interoperability and certification of networks and devices against the underlying 3GPP MCX standards becomes paramount to the evolution of services and reliable performance required by the network operators and critical end-users. The panel will explain progress in building a robust compliance and certification regime including:
• Mission Critical Conformance Tester – MCS-TaaSting (led by Fidel Liberal-University of Basque County) The MCS-TaaSting project, funded by the NIST/PSCR, developed a conformance tester for the 3GPP mission critical services. This session explains the testing approach and possibilities for all stakeholders on how to use the tester for their purposes.Mission Critical Conformance Tester – MCS-TaaSting The MCS-TaaSting project, funded by the NIST/PSCR, developed a conformance tester for the 3GPP mission critical services. This session explains the testing approach and possibilities for all stakeholders on how to use the tester for their purposes. Results from the MCX#7 Plugtests (led by Harald Ludwig-TCCA)
• The MCX#7 Plugtests in November 2022 will include testing on real 4G and 5G systems and for the first time the Interworking between MCX systems and narrowband systems like P25 and TETRA will be tested and the FRMCS (Future Rail Mobile Communication System) can also use 5G systems for the first time in a Plugtests. This session will present the results from the last Plugtests.
• Certification of Mission Critical products (led by Asif Hamidullah-GCF) TCCA and GCF (Global Certification Forum) are working to adapt the certification processes for mission critical products. Conformance testing and field test will be available for mission critical devices and clients. This session presents the activities and possible options for mission critical certifications, including an outlook of the next activities. < Note to event organisers- inclusion of additional panelists from NIST/PSCR, Texas A&M University, FirstNet-AT&T could also be contemplated and long panel or workshop session possible>
