Introducing Broadway - Countries Coming Together to Enable Interoperable Pan-European Broadband Systems for Public Protection and Disaster Relief (PPDR)

This workshop will introduce the Broadway program and provide a detailed chronology of events throughout the program's history beginning in 2019 to present day. The program consists of 11 European countries working together to introduce 3GPP standards-based mission critical communications with the ability to fully interoperate with each other using separate deployments, using both commercial and private networks, as well as the ability to provide local roaming with home-routing allowing any user to communicate to their home MCx system. Interconnection between separate systems is through the MCX-1 interface with each participating system having a separate domain and location. With a single point of interconnection and intercommunication and management per-country, there is also centralized orchestration using mission-critical service interfaces. Broadway is enabling international and inter-agency connection using 3GPP defined standards based MCx systems.
