As the First Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) continues studying all types of incidents, the organization continues to confirm the need for reliable a data network on an incident is a necessity. In 2021, the FirstNet Authority completed a wildland fire case study on the use of FirstNet during the 2020 wildland fire season. The study found 5 items that that will help maximize the use of the FirstNet network during incidents.
The FirstNet Authority worked with nationally recognized fire associations and its network partner to develop a training document to be delivered to the wildland communications community, including an overview of these items. While the focus was on wildfire, this information is relevant to all types of incidents. This session will discuss these 5 key takeaways from the study and how they can benefit public safety organizations in all types of response.
