The Emergency Incident Data Object (EIDO) suite of standards is now complete. This provides an internationally standardized framework for documenting, storing, conveying and managing information about events, including for NG9-1-1 systems, CAD and logging. This session will provide a deep-dive overview of the EIDO specifications and real-world applications of how they are currently facilitating interoperability today. The EIDO suite includes (1) the data format, (2) the API, and (3) operational and management procedures.
This session will cover:
- A detailed overview of each of the three specifications in the EIDO suit
- How an EIDO is created, handled, conveyed, used, and stored, from the very beginning of 9-1-1 call origination, through the communications center and all the way to the field
- How EIDO provides interoperability between different domains in public safety communications (e.g., from NG9-1-1 call routing and handling to CAD) and also between different vendors in the same domain (e.g., CAD to CAD)
- Provide real-world use cases of where EIDO has been implemented on a broad scale and provides for interoperability today
