The Push-To-Talk over Cellular (PTToC) solutions available today have fueled the integration of wireless broadband into the PTT use case, delivering increased wireless coverage and workflow productivity. But one universal challenge remains… a lack of PTToC solution interoperability. PTToC users on Solution A cannot communicate with PTToC users on Solution B without solution provider collaboration and preconfigured gateways.
This session explores an innovative approach to address this challenge. Utilizing smartphone constructs that we use every day such as app stores, SMS, two factor authentication, and contact lists, an incident commander can dynamically create ad-hoc groups for multi-agency incident participants, from his/her smartphone. The session considers multiple public safety use cases to assess implications on multi-agency communications while igniting participants' creative thinking toward their specific concept of operations.
