Cost-Effective Low-Cost VHF/UHF Radio-Linked Simulcast Systems for Unique Coverage Issues

Neil Horden  (Solutions Engineer, EF Johnson JVCKenwood)

Track: Government & Enterprise

Topics: Backhaul, In-building Coverage, Interoperability, LMR

Format: Power Session

Vault Recording: TBD

The recent release of radio systems designed for simulcast operation with simple IP radio linked sites opens the possibility to solve difficult coverage issues without the cost and complexity of traditional simulcast system design.
This session will provide an overview of this technology and how it can be applied to analog and digital radio systems. We will also provide a variety of example use cases, including in-building, dense campus, multi-building, and terrain limited situations, and how it can deliver efficient communications
To help assist in determining when and where and when to apply its use, we will address both the capabilities as well as the limitations of these systems….

Takeaway

The participants will be exposed to multiple creative uses for this technology.

The participants will learn the capabilities and limitations of technology.

The participant will learn how to determine of their requirements are a good fit for this technology, or if other solutions should be considered.
