Augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) often are associated with video games and other forms of entertainment, but these technologies are being used increasingly for very serious purposes. While they already are part of many training programs, the technologies—particularly AR—could prove to be a key advancement in response efforts, especially from a situational-awareness perspective. With the right connectivity and devices, the amount of data that could be given to a first responder is almost limitless. Listen to expert panelists discuss how can this information be filtered to give only the most relevant nuggets to first responders, and how can they be shared in a manner that does not distract responders from their primary missions.
